Sherwood Forest, MI

Sherwood Forest sits between Palmer Woods and the University District in northwest Detroit — a smaller, less-publicized historic neighborhood with some of the city’s most distinctive architectural inventory. Tudors, Georgians, and the occasional mid-century anomaly line streets named after English forests and locations from the Robin Hood mythology. The lots are deep, the canopy is mature, and the homes have been held by families long enough that turnover is rare.

The neighborhood was platted in 1916 and built out across the next two decades. It carries local historic district designation. The Detroit Golf Club and the University District frame its southern and eastern edges.
