Naomi Whitfield

Detroit historic neighborhoods
Naomi grew up in Palmer Woods and has been selling homes in Detroit’s historic neighborhoods for over a decade. Her territory — Palmer Woods, Sherwood Forest, Indian Village, Boston-Edison — is the city’s deepest concentration of pre-war architecture, and she knows it block by block. She can tell you which streets the original architects favored, which homes have been carefully restored, and which look the part but won’t pass inspection. Before real estate, Naomi worked in historic preservation with the Detroit Land Bank Authority. That background informs how she counsels both buyers and sellers: a historic home is a stewardship, not just a transaction, and the right match between owner and property matters. She lives in Sherwood Forest in a 1958 home she’s restoring slowly and properly.
