6510 Strathmore is a modernist statement house on a wooded lot in Sherwood Forest. Wood, limestone, and stone meet on a paver-set drive that frames the entry sequence, and the principal elevation runs deep across the lot under a strong horizontal roofline. The home was commissioned in 1968 by a Detroit architect for his own family, and the design language reflects that — every elevation has been considered, every material transition resolved.
The home has been updated mechanically throughout while preserving the architectural detailing that defines it. Clerestory glazing along the upper register provides interior light without compromising privacy from the street, and the rear opens through full-height glass to a stone-paved courtyard.
